The Victoria Community Food Hub Society is a charity that promotes a healthy and
sustainable food system on Southern Vancouver Island. The South Island FarmHub
brings good food, fresh from local farms and food makers, to home customers, charity
organizations, and schools. The Farmbucks program deeply subsidizes the bounty
from FarmHub’s online farmers market to increase access to meal and food hamper
programs supporting vulnerable community members.
In 2023, Farmbucks helped provide over $93,000 worth of food for 10 charities and 6
schools, feeding over 15,000 people. This program is a triple-win:
making healthy, local food more accessible, supporting local farmers and food
